IBMS Congress (Institute of Biomedical Science) - Birmingham (England)

The theme of the Stago stand was innovation and leadership in Haemostasis which was perfectly demonstrated with the first UK exhibition of our new flagship analyser the STA R Max launched in January 2015, the unveiling of the latest addition to the Max generation, the STA Compact Max2 which will be launched in November 2015 and the cutting edge technology of the ST Genesiia, clinical thrombin generation analyser. With the addition of the Compact Max2 to the Max generation family, our customers could see that Stago now have the perfect solution for both the high throughput hub laboratory with the STA R Max and the ideal companion for lower throughput requirements with the STA Compact Max2. The STA Coag Expert which is common to both of these systems was of particular interest to the many customers who visited the stand. The unique features of the STA Coag Expert are a great help to laboratories to manage the accreditation and administration requirements of ISO15189:2012. For example the accreditation tools include automated method comparison, advanced QC features and full traceability which are further complemented by the management tools suite; TAT module, cost per reportable result and remote maintenance capabilities. In addition to the new systems Stago launched during the IBMS congress we also demonstrated our commitment to science with the New Technology Showcase presentation; Breakthrough innovation in Thrombin generation – automation and standardisation for clinical applications and enhanced diagnosis by Laurence Loi from– Stago UK Ltd and our ‘Scientific Corner’ which featured presentations on D-Dimers and exclusion of VTE, DOACs, and the true impact of HIL on mechanical clot detection assays. And finally, the congress gave the UK team was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the affiliate’s 10th Birthday from 2005-2015. What a big difference those ten years have made. We will be back in Birmingham again to continue our 10th birthday celebrations with our Scientific Symposium being held on the 3rd December 2015 at the Radisson Blu Hotel near New Street Station. The IBMS congress gave us a unique opportunity to meet many of our customers and partners all in one place and was a great success for the Stago UK team.
